VOSSLOH has acquired Nordic Tamping Service (NTS), a specialist track maintenance contractor based in Borlänge, Sweden. The transaction completed on January 9 and its value has not been disclosed.

Operating in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, NTS provides ballast tamping services for both track maintenance and new line construction. With the acquisition, Vossloh says it has taken on an experienced, well-coordinated team as well as the entire NTS specialist plant fleet, enabling it to extend the range of services it provides to infrastructure managers in Scandinavia.

Vossloh currently employs around 530 people in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland, where its activities range from the supply of turnouts, rail fastening systems and concrete sleepers to track construction and maintenance services. NTS will be integrated into Vossloh’s Lifecycle Solutions business unit.

“NTS completes our portfolio in Scandinavia,” says Vossloh CEO, Oliver Schuster. “This enables us to offer our customers an even more comprehensive range of services from a single source than before.”
