VOSSLOH has been awarded a contract to provide rail fastening systems for the under-construction HS2 project between London, Birmingham and Handsacre Junction.
The contract worth around €30m was awarded by Porr, which is supplying slab track for the new high-speed line. The order covers the period from 2025 to 2027.
Porr and Aggregate Industries UK won the £260m contract to design and manufacture precast slab track for the 225km high-speed line in 2020. Plans by the consortium to establish a new manufacturing facility in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, close to the source of aggregate required to produce sections of slab track, were subsequently abandoned, however.
Porr contractor says that production of its Slab Track Austria system that it will install on HS2 will now take place at another location in Britain, but has declined to provide further details.
