LA Purple Line extension approved
LOS ANGELES County Metropolitan Transportation Authority has approved plans for the 14.5km extension of the Purple Line subway to Westwood.
Construction is due to begin next year on the initial phase from Western Avenue to La Cienega. However, the second phase still faces stiff opposition, particularly in Beverley Hills.
The Purple line currently runs for 10km from Union Station in central Los Angeles with the Koreatown district.
