WORKERS from China Railway No 4 Engineering Group (CREC4) started tracklaying of the new Fuyang - Huaibei high-speed line in northern Anhui province in eastern China on October 28.

The line will link the province with the prosperous Yangtze River Delta region. According to China Daily, a groundbreaking ceremony for the tracklaying was held at Pier 106 of the G3 Beijing - Taipei Expressway Grand Bridge, which was also built by CREC4.

The 142.5km line has been designed for 350km/h running and will link the four cities of Fuyang, Bozhou, Huaibei and Suzhou in northern Anhui. It was jointly funded by Anhui Provincial Investment Group and the four municipal governments.
