ÖBB to procure new EMUs

MÁV-Start signs contract for final Stadler Kiss EMUs
HUNGARIAN national passenger operator MÁV-Start and Stadler have signed a contract worth €313m for 21 additional Kiss EMUs, under a framework agreement signed in April 2017 for 40 double-deck EMUs.

Virginia and CSX agree $US 3.7bn investment to improve passenger infrastructure
THE Commonwealth of Virginia and CSX have agreed a $US 3.7bn investment programme to separate freight and passenger traffic on the Washington, DC - Richmond corridor, which will double the number of Amtrak services on the route to a near hourly service and offer a 75% increase in Virginia Railway Express (VRE) services on the I-95 corridor.

NETHERLANDS Railways (NS) reported a strong increase of international passengers in 2019, with the NS International subsidiary seeing a 13% increase in the sale of international tickets to four million.
