Alstom wins another DB ETCS onboard contract
GERMAN Rail (DB) has selected Alstom to retrofit 19 ICE1 high-speed trains with ETCS onboard equipment. The contract is worth more than €10m and work is scheduled for completion in September 2021.

Storm force winds disrupt railways across Europe
RAIL services in Britain and Ireland were disrupted by storm force winds of up to 156km/h on February 9 and 10 as Storm Ciara, the worst in seven years, battered the two countries. The intense low-pressure system crossed the Atlantic from the Gulf of Mexico and continued past the British Isles to northwestern Europe where German forecasters named it Storm Sabine.

Strong growth for Leo Express in 2019
PRAGUE-based open-access operator Leo Express carried more than 2.4 million passengers in 2019, up 33% from 1.8 million in 2018, with turnover increasing 25% to more than Koruna 1bn ($US 43.7m), up from Koruna 800m in 2018.
