SNCF Network has selected Systra to provide project management assistance for the planned Bordeaux - Toulouse and Bordeaux - Dax high-speed lines in southwest France.
Under the nine-year, €200m contract, Systra will mobilise around 100 engineers in Bordeaux and Toulouse to work on the project, and will be involved in all phases of design and construction of the New Southwest Line (LNSO) project, assisting SNCF Network in the following tasks:
- defining the functional and technical programme
- leading the administrative, financial, and environmental management of the project
- ensuring compliance with budgetary and deadline commitments, and
- implementing innovative technologies and ensuring a high level of environmental performance on the project.
The Bordeaux - Toulouse and Bordeaux - Dax lines will be constructed as two separate branches of the Tours - Bordeaux high-speed line which opened in 2017. They will total 418km of new infrastructure and reduce existing Paris - Toulouse journey times from 4h 10min to 3h 10min, and Paris - Dax from 3h 20min to 3 hours.
The first calls for tenders for the construction phase of the project are expected to be announced next year. The €15bn project is expected to be completed in 2032.
