Adif AV awarded €1.18m grant for regenerative braking project
SPAIN’s high-speed network infrastructure manager Adif AV has been awarded a grant of €1.18m from the country’s Institute for the Diversification and Saving of Energy (IDAE) to offset the cost of six reversible traction substations, which are facilitating regenerative braking on Spain's conventional rail network.

RFI awards initial contract for Verona - Padua HS line
ITALIAN infrastructure manager Italian Rail Network (RFI) has signed a €2.5bn contract with the Iricav 2 consortium led by the Webuild Group to start work on the first section of the high-speed line between Verona and Padua, which will complete the Milan - Venice high-speed line.

Alstom to consider weak Bombardier Transportation results in takeover talks
