The 313km Xuzhou - Yancheng line runs southeast from Xuzhou East on the Beijing - Shanghai high-speed line via Suqian and Huai'an to Yancheng. The line has a design speed of 250km/h and nine stations.

The other 105km line runs south from Lianyungang via Guanyun and Guannan to Huai'an where it intersects with the Xuzhou - Yancheng line, and links up with an existing high-speed line which continues south via Yangzhou to Zhenjiang City. This line also has a design speed of 250km/h.

Initially, 11 round trips per day are operating on each line, but this will be doubled to 22 trains per day when the new national timetable is introduced on December 30.
