DB Engineering & Consulting acquires InfraView

GERMAN Rail’s (DB) consulting and engineering subsidiary, DB Engineering & Consulting, has acquired the Mainz-based IT company InfraView, which specialises in the development of digital solutions for the monitoring, diagnosis and analysis of infrastructure facilities and vehicles.

DB Engineering & Consulting says the programmes developed by InfraView can reduce disruptions.

InfraView developed the diagnostics and analysis platform Diana for DB which, with more than 20,000 connected systems, is one of the world's largest IT platforms for switch diagnostics.

DB Engineering & Consulting says that by using the intelligent data diagnosis and analysis tools provided by Diana, repair needs and damage to infrastructure and vehicles can be detected and remedied before problems arise. The company says disruptions to turnouts can be reduced by up to 50%, which should help to improve reliability and punctuality.
