The shareholdings include a qualified majority in AFS-Teknic in Turkey and OD Tehnic in Romania. Both companies’ names have been adapted to fit the new majority relationships, with the Turkish subsidiary now operating under the name Ultimate Taşimacilik Ekipmanlari (Ultimate Turkey), while the Romanian company will operate under the name Ultimate Transportation Equipment (Ultimate Romania).
Ultimate, which is based in Amstetten, Austria, says this investment means it will be able to better supply both the direct market requirements in Turkey as well as the need for in-house metal manufacturing in Europe. In Romania, the focus is on projects involving rail vehicle interiors using in-house manufacturing facilities for glass fibre plastic parts (GRP).
“With the qualified majority ownership, we are able to increase our focus on the European business and are taking a further step towards local manufacturing,” says Ultimate CEO, Mr Manfred Teufl. “We can now meet the future requirements of the European market much more flexibly and with greater customer-orientation, and are convinced that this will bring considerable added value for many European users of public transport facilities in the rail sector.”
