Egypt to localise train manufacturing with new complex
EGYPT has launched a project to develop a National Company for Railway Industries (NERC), a centralised facility that will localise the manufacture, repair, replacement and renewal of trains in the country. The project is expected to attract up to $US 10bn in investment in the coming years.

CAMEROON’s infrastructure manager Camrail has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Australian mining company Canyon Resources to increase capacity between Canyon’s mine in Minim, Martap, to the Atlantic port of Douala, on the approximate 800km Ngaoundere - Douala line.

Cairo Metro Line 4 Phase 1 systems contract awarded
EGYPT’s National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) has signed a contract with a consortium of Orascom Construction and Mitsubishi Corporation to execute the railway systems, track and depot works package (CP411) for Cairo Metro Line 4 Phase 1.
