MTR reports slight drop in revenue and profit
HONG Kong-based operator MTR Corporation recorded a 2.7% drop in revenue in 2018, down from $HK 55.4bn ($US 7bn) to $HK 53.9bn, resulting in a 4.3% decrease in profit from $HK 16.8bn to $HK 16.1bn. The decrease in overall revenue was mainly caused by a sharp fall in revenue from MTR’s mainland China property development business, which dropped from $HK 6.9bn to $HK 60m.
