New York road congestion charge to support rail networks
NEW York City is aiming to raise up to $US 15bn to support Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) rail upgrades and repairs from a new road traffic congestion pricing programme, the first in the United States, which was confirmed in the state’s 2020 budget announcement on April 1.
