Haramain high-speed ridership exceeds expectations

Study finds increased demand for Texas high-speed line
A NEW study has found annual ridership on the Houston and North Texas high-speed service is expected to reach nearly 6 million by 2029, and 13 million by 2050. The Transforming Travel in Texas study carried out by LEK Consulting and released by Texas Central also found 16 million people travelled between Houston and North Texas annually in 2017, up from 14 million in 2015.

New British factory not dependent on HS2 contract, Talgo says
SPANISH manufacturer Talgo has confirmed the launch of its new factory in Longannet, Scotland, is not dependent on the company winning the contract to supply the fleet for High Speed 2 (HS2), but stressed it does require a large order to “anchor” the factory before construction can begin.

CAF to maintain Trenitalia high-speed trains
ITALIAN national operator Trenitalia has awarded CAF subsidiary CAF Italia a contract to provide preventative and corrective maintenance services for its fleet of 59 Frecciarossa ETR500 high-speed trains. The six-year contract is worth €120m, with an option for a six year extension.
