ICE 4 receives German ETCS approval
GERMANY's Federal Railway Authority (EBA) has approved the ICE 4 high-speed train fleet for operation with ETCS in Germany, allowing German Rail (DB) to begin passenger service with the train on the Berlin - Munich route, which is equipped with the system, when it changes its timetable on December 9.

IPEM: Russia freight wagon market could be worth $US 24bn by 2030
RUSSIAN freight wagon owners will require 400,000-550,000 wagons between 2019 and 2030, according to research by the Russia-based Institute of Natural Monopolies Research (IPEM). IPEM estimates that this will translate into freight wagon market worth $US 17.4-23.5bn during the same period.

STADLER presented its prototype Flirt Akku battery-electric multiple units on October 25, when the train completed a trip from Stadler’s plant in Berlin-Pankow to Schildow in Brandenburg without an external power supply.
