Rail Cargo Group boosts European intermodal network
AUSTRIAN Federal Railways’ subsidiary, Rail Cargo Group (RCG), is set to expand intermodal operations to 35 frequent routes by adding new routes between the Netherlands and Austria; Hungary and northern Italy; and Turkey and Poland.

DSB reports large drop in profits over first nine months of 2018
DANISH State Railways (DSB) achieved a pre-tax profit of DKr 338m ($US 51.7m) in the first nine months of 2018, a 43%, DKr 257m reduction from the same period last year. Total profit for the period was DKr 263m, down 43% from DKr 458m in the first nine months of 2017.

United Wagon wins order for new-generation fertiliser wagons
RUSSIAN fertiliser producer, MCC EuroChem, has awarded a contract to United Wagon for 700 new-generation wagons to transport potash from its Usolskiy Potash plant. Delivery of the wagons will be completed by the end of the first half of 2019.

Strong growth for Eurostar in third quarter
EUROSTAR reported a positive performance and record sales revenues in its third quarter results released on November 7, with passenger numbers up 12% from to 2.69 million to 3 million compared with the previous year, and sales revenues up 17% from £211m in the same period in 2017 to £247m in 2018.
