SFMTA signs parts contract with Alstom
SAN Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has awarded Alstom a €50m three-year contract for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) services to manage and supply parts for the SFMTA fleet, including two exercisable two-year options.

Leo Express selected for Pardubice regional contract

EIB grants MPK loan to purchase energy efficient trams
THE European Investment Bank (EIB) announced at the COP 24 conference in Katowice, Poland, on December 3 that it will grant a loan of Zlotys 376m ($US 99.7m) to Krakow’s bus and tram operator MPK to purchase up to 90 new low-floor trams, and to modernise its existing fleet.

ODENSE Letbane, the public agency responsible for developing a new 14.5km light rail network in Denmark’s third-largest city, has selected Keolis as preferred bidder for a 15-year operations and maintenance contract worth €230m.

Thameslink operator sanctioned for timetable chaos
BRITAIN’s Department for Transport (DfT) has cut Govia Thameslink Railway’s (GTR) franchise profits and instructed it to make £15m of passenger improvements for its role in the huge disruption to services following the introduction of a new timetable in May, which sought to introduce a large number of new services on the cross-London Thameslink network.

Study to examine potential for New South Wales HS network
THE New South Wales (NSW) government has launched a study into the feasibility of a high-speed rail network in the state, and appointed Professor Andrew McNaughton to lead an expert panel to identify the most appropriate routes, speeds and station locations.
