SPANISH national operator Renfe has reported a €35.5m profit for the first half of 2018, a 16% increase compared with the same period last year when it reported a €30.2m profit.

A 25% revenue increase has helped CAF report a €18m net profit for the first half of 2018, up 12% from the same period last year.

THE board of Spanish infrastructure and engineering company Comsa has reached an agreement to sell its remaining stake in rail freight operator Comsa Rail Transport (CRT) to SNCF Logistics, giving the French company 100% control.

TALGO, Spain, has awarded a Yuan 60m ($US 8.9m) contract to CRRC Sifang to supply train infotainment systems and the two companies have signed a 10-year strategic cooperation agreement whereby CRRC Sifang will become the primary supplier of Talgo's passenger information systems.

A 6.5km extension to Madrid Metro Line 11 from Plaza Elíptica north to Conde de Casal on Line 6, announced by the city's governing council on June 3, is set to expand the 292km network to more than 300km for the first time.
