THE first phase of San Francisco’s $US 2.26bn Transbay Salesforce Transit Center, which will connect the Californian city’s bus and rail services, opened on August 11 following a decade of construction.

ELECTED officials and Bart representatives joined community members for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 25 to mark the start of services on the 16km Antioch extension of the Bart network the following day.
