TRANSMASHHOLDING (TMH) has unveiled a prototype EMU, the EP2D, developed by its Demikhovsky Engineering Plant subsidiary, and will soon undergo dynamic tests at the Railway Research Institute (VNIIZHT) test track in Shcherbinka, near Moscow.

THE International Union of Railways (UIC) director general Mr Jean-Pierre Loubinoux has confirmed that new Russian Railways (RZD) president Mr Oleg Belozerov will succeed his predecessor Mr Vladimir Yakunin as chairman of the UIC.
