MALAYSIA's prime minister Mr Najib Abdul Razak officially opened the latest additions to Kuala Lumpur's steadily growing rail network on June 30, a 17.4km extension of the Kelana Jaya Line and a 6.6km extension of the Ampang Line both of which terminate in Putra Heights.

KUALA Lumpur light metro operator Rapid KL began serving four new stations in the district of Puchong on March 31 with the opening of the 6.5km southern extension from Kinrara BK5 to Bandar Puteri.

THE first of 14 four-car light metro trains being built by Bombardier Transportation and Hartasuma for operation on the Kelana Jaya Line in Kuala Lumpur was presented to Prasarana Malaysia and the operator Rapid KL on January 18.

A month of free rides began on November 1 on services to the four new stations added to Kuala Lumpur's Ampang light metro line from Sri Petaling to Bandar Kinrara.
