New concession contract begins for Buenos Aires metro

Buenos Aires Subte concession awarded

THE Buenos Aires regional government has awarded incumbent Metrovías a new 12-year contract effective 90 days after the announcement to operate the city’s Subte metro system. The award follows a long running tender exercise that initially saw significant international interest. An optional three-year extension is also included.

Siemens secures CBTC contract for Buenos Aires metro Line D

SIEMENS has been awarded contract by Buenos Aires metro authority (Sbase) for the installation of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) on the 11km Line D of the Subte network.
