Network Rail asks EC to intervene over Siemens-Alstom merger

CHIEF executive of infrastructure manager Network Rail, Mr Andrew Haines, has reportedly written to European Union (EU) competition commissioner, Ms Margrethe Vestager, asking the European Commission (EC) to intervene in the proposed merger between Siemens Mobility and Alstom, saying that the deal “stands to do great harm to the railways in Great Britain.”
