Final design contracts for Latvian Rail Baltica line awarded

RB Rail, the body implementing the Rail Baltica project, has awarded two contracts on behalf of the Latvian Ministry of Transport for design and design supervision of the two remaining sections of the Latvian main line.

THE RB Rail joint venture, which is responsible for implementing the Rail Baltica high-speed project linking Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, has selected a consortium of Spanish companies Ineco and Idom Consulting to deliver the design contract for the 56km section of the route which passes through the Latvian capital Riga.

RB RAIL’s procurement commission has awarded Spanish company Idom two two-year design/design-supervision contracts for the Rail Baltica project, the first of seven such contracts due to be awarded.
