INDIA’s prime minister Mr Narendra Modi and the chief minister of Telengana state Mr K Chandrashekhar Rao made an inaugural trip on November 28 to mark the completion of the first 30km section of the Hyderabad metro linking Miyapur with Nagole.

THE chief minister of the Indian state of Telengana Mr K. Chandrashekhar Rao has invited India’s prime minister Mr Narendra Modi to inaugurate the first phase of the Hyderabad metro network, with the official opening ceremony expected to take place on November 28.

CONSTRUCTION of the first phase of Hyderabad's metro network reached a milestone on May 8 with the first trial run on the 4.4km northern section of Line 1 between the depot at Miyapur and Kukatpally.

INDIA's first CBTC deployment reached an important milestone on December 30 with the first test run under Automatic Train Operation (ATO) on the 8km eastern section of Hyderabad metro Line 3 between Nagole and Mettuguda.

Hyderabad is one of the first cities in India to adopt a public-private partnership model for its metro network, which is claimed to be the world's largest metro PPP.
