GUANGZHOU’s metro network reached 390.6km on December 28 with the start of trial passenger operation on three new lines and an extension of the existing Line 4.
THE Guangzhou Industrial Investment Fund Management (GIIFM) and some local companies have set up a Yuan 10bn ($US 1.52bn) fund to finance the development of the Chinese city’s urban rail network with an initial capital injection of about Yuan 2bn.
GUANGZHOU Metro announced on September 30 that it has begun testing on four new sections of line which will add 81.4km to the network by the end of the year.
