Dutch government offers €1.5bn compensation to passenger operators
THE European Commission (EC) has approved a Dutch scheme worth around €1.5bn to compensate regional and long-distance public transport operators in the Netherlands for losses caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent measures introduced to contain the virus.

Brazilian passenger operators face $US 1.3bn loss in 2020
THE Brazilian National Association of Passenger Rail Operators (ANPTrilhos) says metro, urban and light rail operators across the country are expecting a total loss of Reais 7.4bn ($US 1.3bn) by the end of the year, with passenger numbers dropping 30% compared with 2020.
