CHILTERN Railways began operating London Marylebone - High Wycombe - Oxford Parkway services on October 26 following the completion of a £320m project to create a new link between the capital and Oxford.

CHILTERN Railways reached a key milestone on the construction of its new link to Oxford on the morning of September 28 with the first driver training run over the new 1km chord at Bicester, which connects the London Marylebone - High Wycombe - Banbury line with the Bicester – Oxford line.

CHILTERN Railways marked the completion of tracklaying on its new link to Oxford on July 17, 100 days before the start of passenger services from London Marylebone to Oxford Parkway.

BRITISH infrastructure manager Network Rail has awarded an £87m design and build contract to a joint venture of Carillion and Buckingham Group Contracting to carry out infrastructure works on Chiltern Railways' new London Marylebone – Oxford link.
