BULGARIAN State Railways (BDZ) subsidiary BDZ Passenger Transport has invited four rolling stock suppliers to bid for a contract to supply at least 42 EMUs following the approval of the operator’s fleet renewal programme by Bulgaria’s council of ministers on July 20.
SOFIA metro operator Metropolitan has signed a Lev 958,000 (€489,800) deal with local company Sweco Energoproekt to design a 5.6km metro line with six stations, which will link the Bulgarian capital’s central areas with the eastern Slatina district.
