BOMBARDIER formally handed over the first Traxx AC Last Mile locomotive for Austrian rail freight operator LTE at a ceremony in Graz on June 27.

LOCOMOTIVE leasing company Akiem have signed a framework agreement with Bombardier Transportation for 52 Bombardier Traxx AC and MS electric locomotives, with an initial firm order for 26 units worth €95m.

FIRST Group announced on June 8 that its subsidiary Great Western Railway has finaised an agreement with Porterbrook Leasing to lease 37 new four-car Bombardier class 387 Electrostar EMUs, in addition to the eight sets already on order.

ABELLIO Rail Südwest has awarded Bombardier a €215m contract to supply 43 Talent 2 EMUs for Baden-Württemberg Network 1a (Neckar Network), which Abellio will operate for 13 years from 2019.

NETHERLANDS Railways (NS) has exercised a second and final option with Bombardier for eight additional class 186 Traxx multi-system electric locomotives, taking its fleet to 45 units.

ALBTAL Transport Company (AVG) and Karlsruhe Transport Authority (VBK) have awarded a €59.5m contract to Bombardier for a further 12 Flexity Swift ET 2010 tram-trains.

ZÜRICH City Council and the Transport Council of the Canton of Zürich have approved the acquisition of 70 metre-gauge Flexity 2 LRVs from Bombardier to replace the ageing Tram 2000 fleet introduced in the 1970s.
