BELGIAN infrastructure manager Infrabel says civil works have now been completed on the 16.2km Liefkenshoek rail link, which will provide a direct connection for freight trains between the western area of Antwerp docks and Antwerp North yard on the east bank of the river Scheldt.

BELGIAN public transport operator De Lijn has selected Bombardier as preferred bidder for a contract to supply 48 low-floor LRVs after the €128.6m deal was approved by the Flemish minister for mobility and public works, Mrs Hilde Crevits.
