IL-de-France Transport Authority (Stif) has awarded Alstom a €70m contract to supply 22 Citadis X05 LRVs for light rail Line T9. The deal is part of a framework contract for up to 68 LRVs for lines T9 and T10 announced in April 2015.
ALSTOM recorded an 8% increase in sales, a 20% jump in adjusted Ebit, and turned a 2015-16 first-half loss of €57m into a profit of €128m during the first half of its 2016-17 financial year which started on April 1. The company also turned a negative free cash flow of €1.3bn into a positive €333m during the same period.
THE French city of Caen has ordered a fleet of 23 Citadis X05 LRVs from Alstom at cost of about €52m for delivery from 2018 onwards. The contract includes options for up to nine additional LRVs to be supplied by 2021.
ALSTOM presented the first metro train for the Indian city of Lucknow to Mr Yasar Shah, Uttar Pradesh commercial taxes minister, in a ceremony at its plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, on November 4.

THE first of 18 three-car Metropolis trains for Guadalajara metro Line 3 has left Alstom’s Santa Perpetua de Mogoda plant near Barcelona for the nearby port of Tarragona on the first stage of its journey to Mexico.
ALSTOM presented the first of six ETR 526 Jazz EMUs for the Autonomous province of Trento to provincial president Mr Ugo Rossi, councillor for infrastructure and the environment Mr Mauro Gilmozzi, and representatives of Trenitalia on October 21.
GAUTENG minister for roads and transport Dr Ismail Vadi announced on October 20 that three bidders have prequalified for a contract to supply 12 EMUs for the Gautrain standard-gauge commuter rail network, which links Johannesburg with OR Tambo International Airport and Pretoria.
