LATEST INNOVATIONS
Some of our latest developments are in the rail welding sector, where we recently released our innovative i+weld solution. This is revolutionising rail welding by making it safer, smarter and more efficient, as well as helping with the ongoing skills shortage in the market.
Our world-first self-sealing mould streamlines the welding process by up to five minutes per weld, while ensuring superior weld quality. This industry-leading and patented aluminothermic welding solution will be demonstrated on the Pandrol stand at the IAF exhibition in Münster in May.
i+weld also offers optimised pre-heating and cooling, to ensure consistently high-quality welds. Available with a user-friendly app, it provides full weld traceability and maintains proof of competence.
i+align: PRECISION IN RAIL ALIGNMENT
Another significant advancement within rail welding is our new i+align tool, which is designed to automate the rail alignment process. This innovation addresses the common challenge of ensuring precise rail placement, which is critical for safety and operational efficiency.
i+align is a groundbreaking tool that automates rail alignment quickly and easily, reducing installation time and improving accuracy. It offers automated precision, as the device senses the rail angle and adjusts automatically to achieve perfect alignment. Quick and easy for rail welders to use, i+align helps to reduce installation time and save money.

SUSTAINABLE RESILIENT SYSTEMS: A GREENER APPROACH
Our innovations are not just about speed and efficiency at installation stage, but long-term sustainability too. We provide a whole range of Sustainable Resilient Systems (SRS), which are based on recycled rubber technology. Recycled rubber granule technology has been proven to match the performance of solutions that use polyurethane and other polymers made from virgin raw material.
Our commitment to sustainability has recently been recognised on a global stage—we are proud to have been chosen by UNESCO as a partner for the World Engineering Day campaign. This partnership highlights how closely our business and values align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
One of our latest projects in Florence, Italy, is a powerful example of this in action. We played a vital role in modernising urban mobility while preserving the city’s historic heritage. By installing our QTrack® and Floating Slab Mat solutions along Florence’s new tramline, we significantly reduced noise and vibration in a way that protects both people and buildings—while enhancing the sustainability of the city’s transport infrastructure.
As well as reducing noise and vibration, our SRS solutions are engineered to protect the track, extend its lifetime, and reduce maintenance needs. Innovations like Floating Slab Mat, QTrack, Under Ballast Mat and Under Sleeper Pads have been specified for some of the world’s most prominent tramways and railway lines, in cities such as Paris, Madrid, or Barcelona.
These systems help to enhance the quality of life for those living near rail corridors by reducing noise disturbance and protecting the structure of buildings. By improving the resilience of rail infrastructure, these systems contribute to reduced maintenance needs over time, as well as offering the lowest CO₂ footprint in the market.
