TRIALS are set to commence in July 2027 of an extension of the existing Brussels - Strasbourg TGV InOui service to Basle.
Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) will join existing joint operators, SNCF Passenger and Belgian National Railways (SNCB), to operate the train, which will run once per day on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The train will depart Brussels at around 07.00, serving Lille-Europe, Charles de Gaulle Airport, Champagne-Ardenne, Meuse, Lorraine, Strasbourg-Ville and Basel, where the train will arrive at around 12.30. The return service will leave Basel at around 14.00, arriving in Brussels at approximately 19.00.
The service will offer passengers from Switzerland the opportunity to change to trains to London in Lille, or to the Netherlands in Brussels, although return connections from London will not be possible. Tickets will go on sale in spring next year.
