FRANCE’s Normandy region has announced a consultation exercise over timetable changes taking place from March 1 2027 when commuter services on the busiest section of line between Mantes-la-Jolie and Paris Saint Lazare are completely revised.
Wherever possible a regular-interval timetable will be introduced, with standard journey times and stopping patterns. This will particularly affect the Paris - Rouen and Paris - Caen - Cherbourg routes, while Paris - Granville and Caen - Granville - Rennes will also be completely recast, although with much lower frequencies. There are currently five round trips per day between Paris and Granville, and just two between Caen and Rennes, plus two daily buses.
On July 11, RATP Dev took over operation of TER regional services in the Caen area, with frequencies increasing on all routes. TER traffic in Normandy rose 23% between 2019 and 2025.
