RAIB confirms landslip caused Stonehaven derailment
BRITAIN’s Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) has confirmed that the 06.38 southbound service from Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street, which derailed near Stonehaven on August 12, did so following a collision with a landslip.

Ulsan and Hyundai Rotem agree hydrogen tram project
THE Korean city of Ulsan and Hyundai Rotem have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to produce and test the country’s first hydrogen-powered LRVs. The agreement was signed on August 13 at an event attended by Ulsan’s mayor, Mr Cheol-ho Song, and Mr Yong-bae Lee, Hyundai Rotem’s CEO.

Route development contract for Cork light rail line awarded
TRANSPORT Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and the National Transport Authority (NTA) have awarded Jacobs Engineering Ireland a contract to undertake a route option analysis and develop initial designs for the proposed €1bn Luas Light Rail Transit (LRT) line from Ballincollig to Mahon Point in Cork.
