DIGITAL solutions supplier Worldline has announced the successful completion of the first phase of a project to supply a fleet planning system to national operator Irish Rail (IÉ).
Worldline is supplying its Integrale suite which optimises train allocation and tracks rolling stock movements in real time, improving traffic management through efficient route assignment. As well as reducing train delays, Worldline says the system enables the provision of more accurate real-time train running information to passengers.
IÉ is adopting two key modules of the Integrale suite, including Integrale Plan for proactively planning railway operations. Integrale Control manages operations in real time, and its functions include dispatching rolling stock and service monitoring.
Following an extensive consultation and development phase, IÉ has deployed Integrale Plan in Cork, the first of five areas where the new system is to be implemented by the end of January 2025. The deployment of Integrale Control is due to follow during the first quarter of next year.
Worldline says this is the deployment of the Integrale suite outside Britain, where it is in use with operators including Avanti West Coast (AWC), CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway (EMR), Great Western Railway (GWR) and Merseyrail.
