THE design of 11 Flirt inter-city EMUs ordered by Hungarian private operator Győr-Sopron-Ebenfurth railway (GySEV) last March has been finalised. Production of the five-car trains is expected to begin this autumn at Stadler's Szolnok plant in Hungary.
The first vehicles are scheduled to enter service in the last quarter of 2027, with all trains due to be in service by the end of the first quarter of 2028.
The exterior design prominently features the operator’s green and yellow colour scheme. The interior features grey metal and glass elements, as well as relaxing shades of brown, combined with oak panels.
The trains will be deployed on Sopron - Budapest and Szombathely - Budapest services and will add to GySEV’s existing fleet of 20 Flirt EMUs.
