GREEN Mobility Partners, a new entrant to the European locomotive leasing market, has confirmed an order with Siemens Mobility for the supply of up to 50 Vectron locomotives, including an initial firm order for eight units and associated support.
The locomotives will have a maximum output of 6.4MW and a top speed of up to 200km/h. They are expected to be certified for use in eastern and central Europe.
Manufacturing of the locomotives will take place at Siemens plant at Allach, near Munich. Siemens says the contract will include around the clock support as well as an option for on-demand corrective and predictive maintenance.
