ALGERIAN National Railways (SNTF) is tendering a contract to supply up to 124 diesel-electric locomotives for its 1435mm-gauge network, with a firm order for 85 that includes 60 high-power freight locomotives.

The firm order also includes 25 low-power locomotives for shunting duties. The contract covers the supply of spare parts as well as tools and equipment specifically required for fleet maintenance.

There is also an option for the supply of 39 high-power passenger locomotives, including the supply of spare parts.

The tender requires bidders to provide a least two references from an operator confirming that they have satisfactorily delivered similar locomotives during the last 10 years. In order to assess their financial capability, bidders must also provide certified statements for their three best financial years over the last five years.

The deadline for the submission of bids is 90 days from the publication of the tender notice. Bids are due by 12.00 on the last day and at 13.30 SNFT will open technical and financial bids in public at its headquarters in Algiers.
