Israel electrification programme accelerated as ETCS Level 2 tested
ISRAEL Railways (IR) has successfully extended electrification of the A1 Link to Tel Aviv Hashalom and Tel Aviv Savidor/Central stations and begun tests on the section on April 5, just days after announcing plans to revise and accelerate its network electrification programme.

Alstom wins Öresund ETCS Level 2 onboard contract
A Swedish consortium of rolling stock leasing company Transitio and four regional operators has awarded Alstom a €35m contract to install ETCS Level 2 on 77 class X31 EMUs with an option to equip 34 more trains.

Alstom wins another DB ETCS onboard contract
GERMAN Rail (DB) has selected Alstom to retrofit 19 ICE1 high-speed trains with ETCS onboard equipment. The contract is worth more than €10m and work is scheduled for completion in September 2021.
