Alstom wins £642m British train refurbishment and maintenance contract
BRITAIN’s new operator of the West Coast Main Line, Avanti West Coast, has awarded Alstom a seven-year contract worth around £642m to refurbish and maintain the 56 electric Pendolino tilting trains which Alstom originally supplied in 2003.

LTA reports good progress with line upgrades
SINGAPORE’s Land Transit Authority (LTA) says it is making good progress with renewal of the six core systems on the North-South and East-West lines, completing sleeper and third-rail replacement work and resignalling on the lines by the end of 2019.

First Pune metro train delivered

Korail orders 448 EMU cars from Hyundai Rotem
KOREA’s national operator Korail has awarded a Won 638.6bn ($US 550.4m) contract to Hyundai Rotem to replace ageing rolling stock on Seoul metro lines 1, 3, 4 and the Bundang Line.

UWC to supply standard-gauge flat wagons for Laude Smart Intermodal
RUSSIAN manufacturer United Wagon Company (UWC) and Laude Smart Intermodal, Poland, have signed a contract for the supply of 200 standard-gauge Sgmmns flat wagons to transport heavy-duty containers, as UWC looks to reinforce its position in the standard-gauge market.

SWEDISH rail vehicle leasing company AB Transitio has signed a five-year, SKr 280m ($US 29.8m) contract with Bombardier to refurbish and perform heavy maintenance on 59 Regina EMUs.

Alstom-Bombardier to supply new Paris metro trains
PARIS Transport Authority (RATP) and Ille de France Mobility have awarded a consortium of Alstom and Bombardier a €530m contract to supply 44 trains for use on lines 3bis, 7bis and 10 of the Paris metro network. The contract includes options for up to 410 trains.
