Innovative plug helps keep trains running
ThermOmegaTech’s Guru Plug automatic thermostatic drain valve is widely used in North American locomotives to continuously monitor coolant temperature to prevent damage from freezing. The plug has now been tested successfully at the very low temperatures encountered by Nordic railways.

China Railways to receive new high-speed trains
CHINA National Railways (CR) will receive a new fleet of 14 eight-car high-speed trains from Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation (BST) by January 2021, under a Yuan 1.6 billion ($US 248m) contract agreed in 2018.

Dhaka awards engineering consultancy contract for Line 5 section
DHAKA Mass Transit Company (DMTCL), which oversees the implementation of the Bangladeshi capital’s metro project, has awarded a Yen 13.5bn ($US 127m) consultancy contract for the 20km MRT Line 5 North section to a Nippon Koei-led consortium of seven businesses.
