Planning order granted for Niebüll - Westerland track doubling

GERMANY’s Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) has granted infrastructure manager DB Network a planning order for the construction of a second track on part of the Hamburg - Westerland (Sylt) line in Schleswig-Holstein.

More diesel locomotives to be rebuilt for PKP Intercity

PKP Intercity (PKP IC) has agreed a Zlotys 90.3m ($US 23.7m) contract with rail engineering firm H Cegielski in Poznan, Poland, to rebuild 13 class SM42 diesel locomotives. The work is being funded as part of the European Union (EU) Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014 - 2020.
