United Wagon wins order for new-generation fertiliser wagons

RUSSIAN fertiliser producer, MCC EuroChem, has awarded a contract to United Wagon for 700 new-generation wagons to transport potash from its Usolskiy Potash plant. Delivery of the wagons will be completed by the end of the first half of 2019.

Strong growth for Eurostar in third quarter

EUROSTAR reported a positive performance and record sales revenues in its third quarter results released on November 7, with passenger numbers up 12% from to 2.69 million to 3 million compared with the previous year, and sales revenues up 17% from £211m in the same period in 2017 to £247m in 2018.

North West Rail wins Hannover S-Bahn contract

TRANSDEV subsidiary North West Rail (NWB) has been awarded a contract to operate S-Bahn services in and around Hannover from December 2021, following an unsuccessful appeal. The €1.5bn, 12.5-year contract has an annual average of 9.6 million train-km on the 385km regional network.

Siemens Mobility to supply CBTC for Chinese Metro projects

SIEMENS Mobility has been awarded contracts to supply its Trainguard MT CBTC solution for Suzhou metro Line 5 and Nanjing metro Line 7 in eastern China. Both lines are due to be commissioned in 2021.

Network Rail to test overhead line monitoring technology

NETWORK Rail (NR) has awarded ESG Rail and DB Systemtechnik (DBST) a contract to supply overhead line monitoring technology to enhance the existing monitoring fleet. As part of this contract, passenger vehicles will also be used to monitor the network during normal revenue operation.
