New metro lines open in two Chinese cities

Singapore orders 40 additional Movia metro trains from Bombardier
SINGAPORE’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has ordered another 40 six-car Movia metro trains from Bombardier for $S 337.8m ($US 247.7m) to replace second and third generation trains as part of the long-term fleet renewal programme for the North-South and East-West lines (NSEWL).

MTR revenue falls, Ebitda rises for first half of year
HONG Kong rail operator MTR has reported an overall fall in revenue for its business operations of 23%, to $HK 21.59bn ($US 2.79bn) for the first half of the year, compared with $HK 28.27bn for the same period in 2019.

NEPAL Railways has received delivery of two new 1190kW DEMUs from India’s Konkan Railway for operation on the 34km route between Jaynagar, India, and Kurtha, northeast of Janakpur, Nepal.
