FRA to cancel California high-speed rail grants
THE United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) has announced that the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) intends to cancel $US 929m in federal grants awarded to the California high-speed rail project, and has begun actively exploring legal options to seek the return of $US 2.5bn in federal funds already granted to the project.

First tranche of MRT Phase 2 loan transferred to Jakarta administration
INDONESIA’s Ministry of Finance has signed over the first instalment of a Yen 70bn ($US 633.1m) loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) for phase two of the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project to Jakarta’s administration on February 13.

TVZ to build up to 3730 coaches for Russia's Federal Passenger Company
RUSSIAN Railways (RZD) subsidiary Federal Passenger Company (FPK) and Transmashholding subsidiary Tver Carriage Works (TVZ) have signed a contract for the supply of up to 3730 passenger coaches between 2019 and 2025.
