Indian Railways plans privatisation of passenger trains
INDIAN Railways (IR) has announced to plans to invite private and international operators to bid to operate passenger trains on a lease basis on 25 selected routes covering distances from 500 to 700km.

Danish parliament receives plans for new line in eastern Jutland
BANEDANMARK has submitted plans to construct a new 23-24km line between Hovedgård and Hasselager on the Horsens - Aarhus main line in eastern Jutland to the Danish parliament, which will now decide whether to proceed with the DKr 3.5bn ($US 510m) project.

More overnight services and intercity connections for SJ in 2020 timetable
THE Swedish Transport Administration has approved Swedish national passenger operator SJ’s proposed 2020 timetable, which will make another 10,000 seats available every week on the Stockholm - Malmö and Stockholm - Gothenburg services and improve overnight connections around the country.
