SYDNEY Metro has awarded AW Edwards a $A 370m ($US 260.3m) contract to build Crows Nest station, which will be the first stop for metro services leaving Chatswood towards Sydney city centre when the line is extended in 2024.

Europe boosts spectrum allocation for Intelligent Transport Systems
THE European Commission (EC) has agreed to adopt the 5.9GHz band for the exchange of real-time information on safety conditions in connected transport. The ruling effectively doubles the level of available spectrum for safety-critical communications used by intelligent transport systems (ITS) in metro, light and suburban rail networks as well as by road vehicles.
